Thank you for investing in EpigenCare through StartEngine. Below are instructions on how your invested convertible equity tokens will be disbursed to you.
How You Will Receive Your Tokens
In June, you will be receiving your invested token shares as a two-part certificate. This certificate will contain a private digital key (a series of alphanumeric characters) to unlock a digital wallet containing your tokens.
- The first part of the certificate will be sent digitally to you and contain the first half of the private key.
- The second part of the certificate will be physically mailed to you and contain the second half of the private key.
You will have received an e-mail notifying you to confirm your mailing address. If you have a change of both e-mail and mailing address, you must contact StartEngine as soon as possible who will subsequently notify us so that we can update your records.
What the Tokens Represent
EpigenCare’s tokens, entitled “EPIC”, represent rights to convert to equity ownership of the company at a 5:1 rate (5 tokens for 1 common share). You can request to transfer the tokens back to EpigenCare for conversion redemption instructions. If you choose to continue to hold the tokens, you will receive a share of EpigenCare’s sales upon official launch after beta testing.
Unlike traditionally with stock shares, the certificate itself does NOT represent ownership of your EPIC tokens. These digital tokens are validated using blockchain technology and possession of the actual digital tokens represents true ownership of them. Therefore it is important you protect the private digital key on your certificate, as possession of this key enables any user to take possession and move the tokens. EpigenCare is not responsible for theft or loss of your private key or tokens.
How to Access and/or Transfer Tokens
EPIC tokens are stored on a blockchain network called Ethereum, which securely validates and certifies possession of your rights. Your tokens will be stored in a digital wallet with a wallet address ID, which can be accessed with your certificate-provided private key using an interface such as MyEtherWallet. As long as you have access to your private key and the tokens remain in your wallet, you will have full ownership and control of your rights.
You can also transfer or move the tokens to another wallet if you choose to do so. However, we recommend only advanced users do this. Entering the wrong address during transfer is irreversible as there is no centralized entity that maintains your wallet when it comes to blockchain — treat your tokens like how you would treat cash and protect your private key.
