2. How does the EpigenCare™ skincare test work?
The EpigenCare(TM) test is a non-invasive epigenetics skincare test using an at-home sample collection process and a subsequent laboratory-based next-generation sequencing technology. This test detects DNA methylation-controlled activation and inactivation of multiple genes that have been proven to functionally control skin aging, healthiness, and beauty appearance. The test report provides scalable and precision results which include information on your skin's age, firmness and elasticity, moisture, DNA damage and repairability, cell renewal and regeneration capacity, oxidation/antioxidant capacity, sensitivity and inflammatory response, and pigmentation.
Our method is developed based on accumulation of years of scientific peer-reviewed research results pertaining to epigenetic markers of skincare-related biological pathways, which were repeatedly validated by dermatology, cosmetic research, and aging science research groups at top institutes and universities. Blockchain-based record keeping allows for true anonymity while maintaining a trackable ledger for you to verify responsible usage of your data, providing evidence-based reassurance that we never sell your data profile to third parties without your permission. We also use a range of other technical, physical, and administrative procedures to protect the privacy information we collect including sample and testing data so that unauthorized access or disclosure will be prevented.
6. How long are my samples kept for?
Your DNA samples may be retained for up to ten days for testing, or a re-test if necessary. Any remaining samples sent to us are permanently destroyed and disposed of.
